Jenna Murphy used to be a detective in New York until an Internal Affairs investigation has her quitting. Her uncle, the chief in the Hamptons, offers her a job. She accepts and is soon finding her way. But when two people are murder and they have a suspect, Jenna doesn’t think they have the right killer. But when her uncle is killed all bets are off and she does everything to get the killer convicted.

Noah Walker is being accused of a crime he didn’t commit. The brutal murder of two people at an empty house in the Hamptons. He is convicted and resigned to the fact that he will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Jenna starts to realize that maybe Noah isn’t the killer. She finds evidence and Noah is released. They start a shaky alliance to find the real killer. But all isn’t as it seems in the Hamptons. Will they find the killer before it is too late?

I really liked this book. It kept you guessing until the end. I am a big fan of Patterson’s books and this one is right up there as one of my favorites.
